Scott Campbell, Pastor

I grew up in Augusta County, VA. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior as a child in Summer Camp when I was 8 years old and was later baptized at the age of 25. I graduated from Wilson Memorial High School, and have worked as a brick and stone mason as well as have had a career in law enforcement with the Augusta County Sheriff's Office and the Waynesboro Police Department.

Before being ordained 2017, I served as a youth and adult Sunday School teacher, Church Deacon, and led other various church activities.

After being ordained, I have had the great privilege to serve in multiple church plants and church revitalizations. In 2023, the Lord opened the doors and led my family here to First Baptist Church Elkton. What a blessing!

I met my wife, Elizabeth, at church when we were 17 years old. We were married on June 23, 2001. Elizabeth heads up the Ladies Ministries and Music here at First Baptist Church Elkton, and she actively counsels, helps and coordinates in any and every way possible. Elizabeth also works full-time at Merck as a Global Learning and Development Consultant.

Elizabeth and I have two sons, Andrew and Aaron. They have taught us so much through the years!

One of my passions is hunting and I love to spend time in the woods when time allows.

We love the Lord and the people at First Baptist Church Elkton, and we are dedicated to serve as the Lord has called us to do. We look forward to what God has for the future growth at First Baptist Church Elkton and would count it a great blessing if you kept our family at home and at church in your prayers!

Personal Discipleship

Personal Discipleship is very important in the life of a new or long-time Christian who is looking to take the next step for Jesus. Discipleship is a 14-week course open to anyone who desires to know the main, biblical tenants of the Christian faith or wants to deepen their knowledge of the Bible. The person desiring discipleship is paired with a teacher of the same gender, and they jointly study through the "Continue" course (a Bible-based, Scripture-saturated curriculum that explains and helps practically apply major Bible truths).
