The gospel leads our hearts to support the work of the gospel. In 2 Corinthians 8-9, Paul depicts financial giving as an act of grace. He urges believers to excel in acts of grace in order to advance the work of the gospel.
2 Cor. 8:7
Generous giving is the overflow of a heart allured and won by grace. It is not forced by guilt, fear or selfish desire for reward. Only the gospel causes a heart to overflow in a wealth of eager, cheerful generosity towards others.
2 Cor. 8:2-5, 2 Cor. 8:8-10; 2 Cor. 9:7
We also practice Faith Promise giving, asking the Lord to impress on our hearts an amount to give through the church for the purpose of reaching those around the world with the Gospel. This gift might not be something that makes sense to us at times, but the Lord provides it “by faith” when we commit to give it. We invite you to support the ministry of First Baptist Church Elkton
in order to advance the gospel.
2 Cor. 9:10-15
“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes, he became poor, that ye, through his poverty might be rich.”
2 Cor. 8:9
Our doors are open to all, and we warmly invite you to explore the richness of our shared journey. Come, be a part of a community where hearts connect, faith flourishes, and love abounds.
