5th and 6th Grade

Tom and Cyndi Jorgensen

Testimony

Tom Jorgensen -- I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at Vacation Bible School here in Elkton.  After high school I wandered away from the Lord.  In 1995 I started attending church at eastside Baptist Church in Sioux Falls, SD.  That is where "I grew up".  Then in 2001 I moved back to the Elkton Area and began attending church here.

Cyndi Jorgensen -- I was saved in 1984.  My employer had asked if I was "saved" because that was the only was that I could get to heaven.  I prayed that God would show me what it meant to be "saved" because I wanted to know for sure that I was going to heaven.  That night I found my answer in the back of a "Daily Bread" devotional.

Mission and Purpose of Class

Tom Jorgenson -- The 5th and 6th graders are in their pre-teen years.  This is the pivotal time to train them to be Godly teens.  Proverbs 22:6, says Train up a child in the way he should go:  and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  My goal is to help these boys to lean on the Lord.  Respecting authority, honoring their parents, working hard (at school, home, work, etc.).  These are all commands from God.  We will start with a verse by verse chapter to chapter lesson in the book of Proverbs, and where ever else the Lord leads.

Cyndi Jorgensen -- I am privileged to teach the 5th and 6th grade girls Sunday School class.  The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6  Train up a child in the way he should go:  and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  My prayer is to train our young ladies to be Godly woman standing firmly on the Truth of God's Word.

Vision and Hope for Future Growth

Tom Jorgensen -- Starting with just a handful of boys the potential is there to grow the class by many more.  We hope to see our class grow as the church grows and as the kids grow.

Cyndi Jorgensen -- As our church continues to grow, I see that our class will also grow.  I hoped to be used by God to encourage our young ladies.  That they should desire to be as God wants them to be, rather than the world.
